Descendants of William Wade

1. William Wade born about 1780 in Whepstead, Suffolk, died before 1851. He married Charlotte Smith, born about 1780 in Lawshall, Suffolk, (daughter of Edward Smith).
   In the 1841 census, William and Charlotte were living at Breling(?) Green, Lawshall, Suffolk. Thomas, their son, aged 33 was living with them.
   A Henrietta Wade, born about 1753 in Suffolk & Sarah Wade, born about 1791 in Suffolk, lived close to them.
   In the 1851 census, Charlotte was a widow, living with her unmarried son, Thomas, and her grandson, James Beals, born about 1841 in Lawshall.
   In the 1871 census, Sarah lived next door to Thomas, and had a lodger, John Lamson. His place of birth was given as Hawstead.

• Thomas Wade, born about 1808, Lawshall, Suffolk. He married Sarah Chapman, 1866, in Thingoe, Suffolk, born about 1822 in Cowlinge, Suffolk, daughter of John and Ann Chapman.
  In the 1861 census, Thomas was a unmarried Farmer of 40 acres in Lawshall, employing 1 man and 1 boy. His mother, Charlotte was living with him.
  In the 1871 census, Thomas was living with Sarah at Lawshall. He was an Innkeeper and Farmer on 27 acres, employing 1 man and a boy, Sarah's place of birth was Cowlinge, Suffolk.
  In the 1881 census, Thomas was a Beerhouse Keeper, living at Melon Green, Lawshall.

2. William Wade (1.William¹) born 1804, Whepstead, Suffolk, married Hannah Goldsmith, baptised 1 August 1813, Brandeston, Suffolk, (daughter of William Goldsmith and Mary Bedwell).
In the 1851 census, William and his family were living at Great Green in Bradfield St. George. William was a Blacksmith. His place of birth was shown as Bradfield St. George.
In 1861 they were living at Maypole Green, Bradfield St. George, William was a Blacksmith. and his place of birth was Whepstead, which is about 7 miles West of Bradfield St. George. Their granddaughter, Eliza, aged 5, was with them.
In 1871, they were living at Maypole Green and William's place of birth was Whepstead.
n the 1881 census William and Hannah were living at 10 Hardwick Road, Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk.
In the 1891 census, Hannah was a widow, living at 10 Hardwick Road, Bury St. Edmunds, with her daughter Gelina and her husband, Harry Baldwin.

In the 1851 census, there is a Bell Wade, aged 18 (born 1833c) in Bradfield, staying with her Grandparents (William and Mary Goldsmith) at 4 St Jude Place, Bethnal Green. William was born in Nately, Suffolk about 1788 and Mary was born about 1789 in Theberton, Suffolk. Also there, were their granddaughters, Emma Goldsmith, born about 1837 in Bethnal Green and Louisa Brown, born 1848 in Bethnal Green.
• Anna Wade, born 8 June 1836.
• Merinda Wade baptized 5 November 1837, Bradfield St George, Suffolk.
• John Wade, baptized 12 July 1840, Bradfield St George, Suffolk.
• Ellen Wade baptized: 30 December 1844, Bradfield St George, Suffolk. She married William Brabrook, 23 January 1864 in Bradfield St George, Suffolk, born about 1843 in Bury St Edmunds, (son of James and Eliza Brabrook. David Huffey & Annah Huffey were marriage witnesses.
  In the 1881 census, William and Ellen were living at 16 Bridewell Lane, Bury St Edmunds St Mary, Suffolk. Wiiliam was a Printer Compositor.
• Emma Wade baptized 7 September 1845, Bradfield St George, died 20 Septemebr, 1846 in Bradfield St George.
• Alice Wade born 1849, Bradfield St George, Suffolk. In 1871 she was living with her parents at Maypole Green.
• Mary Ann Wade, born 30 March 1847 in Bradfield St George, baptized 7 November 1847 in Bradfield St George. She married John Thomas Pashler, 6 July, 1869 in Bradfield St George, born about 1845, Sutton, Northamptonshire. died before 1908. David Huffey and Geliner Wade were marriage witnesses.
  In the 1871 census, Jonn, Mary Anne & Frederick were living at 63 Whiting Street, Bury St. Edmunds. Also there were, John's brother, George, born about 1852 in Sutton, Northamptonshire and Albina, Mary Anne's younger sister. John was a Baker.

  She married Harry Baldwin, born about 1851 in Bradfield St. George.
  In the 1881 census Geliner was listed as Gelind or Gelina, unmarried Governess aged 29 visiting the home of John and Mary Pashler, 61 Whiting St, Bury St Edmunds. Gelind was Mary's sister.
  In the 1891 census, Gelina & Harry were living at 10 Hardwick Road, Bury St. Edmunds, with her widowed mother, Hannah.
  In the 1901 census, Gelina & Harry were living at 7 Hardwick Road, Bury St. Edmunds. Harry was a Brickyard Labourer.

Anna Wade, born 8 June 1836, Bradfield St George, Suffolk, baptized 18 May 1837, Bradfield St George, Suffolk, married 1855, in Bradfield St George, Suffolk, David Coulson Huffey, born 23 December 1834, Rattlesden, Suffolk, baptized: 2 May 1841, Suffolk, (son of William Huffey and Ann King Mayhew) died 23 January 1903, Brettenham, Suffolk. Anna died 24 March 1927, Brettenham, Suffolk. David was a Master Blacksmith in Brettenham from 1885 - 1890.



3. John Wade baptized 12 July 1840, Bradfield St George, Suffolk. He married Eliza Roberts, 1869 in Cockfield, Suffolk, born about 1848 in London, Middlesex, (daughter of John Roberts and Elizabeth Lambert).
   In the 1881 census John & Eliza and their adopted son Cecil were living at Thorpe St, Thorpe Le Soken, Essex.
   In 1891 and 1901 they were at Hare Geen Smithy, Great Bromley, Essex. John was a Blacksmith & cecil was a Cycle Agent.

4. Rosina Wade, baptized 25 December 1850, Bradfield St George, Suffolk. She married James Spencer, 19 August 1873 in Bradfield St George, born about 1850. William Brabrook and Geliner Wade were marriage witnesses.
