  1. Edward Plume born about 1778 in Stanningfield, Suffolk. He married Sarah Tiffin, 18 September 1803 in Stanningfield, Suffolk, born 1782 in Stanningfield, Suffolk, (daughter of Robert Tiffin and Jessima Maria Perkins) baptized 24 February 1782 in Stanningfield, Suffolk. When Edward married Sarah, the banns gave his parish as Great Whelnetham, He signed his name & Sarah made her "Mark". Robert Sparke (who signed his name) and Margaret Plume (who made her "Mark") were witnesses. Robert Phillips was the Curate. In the 1841 census, Edward was a Mechanic living at the Parsonage in Stanningfield. His name was recorded as Edward Plumb.

  3. John Plume, about 1804. in Stanningfield, Suffolk. He married Sarah Boyden, 2 January 1827 in Stanningfield, Suffolk, born 26 February 1809 in Stanningfield, Suffolk, (daughter of James Boyden and Mary Reeman) died 1890 in Great Whelnetham, Suffolk. John died 1860 in Suffolk. When John married Sarah, he signed his name & Sarah made her "Mark". James Reeman (who signed his name) and Louisa Nunn (who made her "Mark") were witnesses. They were married later that year. John Brett was the Parish Clerk. In the 1841 census John's name was recorded as John Plumb. In 1851 John & his family were living at 39 Church Row, Great Whhelnetham, Suffolk. He was a Farm Labourer. In the 1861 census Sarah was a widow, living in Malting Street, Great Whelnetham, with David. Alfred, Eliza & Lucy. She lived between John (born 1833) & Eliza Plume and Edward (born 1830) & Priscilla. In 1881 she was living alone in Church Street, Great Whelnetham, possibly a nurse to Mallows family in Great Whelnetham.

  5. Robert Plume, born about 1811 in Stanningfield, Suffolk. He married Sarah Nunn, born about 1811 in Stanningfield, Suffolk. Robert died 1853. In the 1841 census, his name was recorded as Robert Plumb. He was living with his family at Stanningfield, Suffolk. In the 1851 census, Robert was a Farm Labourer, living with his family at Church Row, Great Whelnetham, Suffolk. In the 1861 census, Sarah is a widow, occupation was a Char Woman (sic). She lived in Malting Street, Great Whelnetham, next to Edward & Priscilla Plume.

  7. Maria Plume, born 17 May 1820 in Stanningfield, Suffolk, baptized 18 June 1820 in Stanningfield, Suffolk. She married William Henry Borley, 1839 in Stanningfield, Suffolk, born 1822 in Melford, Suffolk. Maria was married as Jessie Maria Plume. In the 1851 census, William & his family were living at Hall Street, Melford, Suffolk. He was a Baker & Confectioner.

  9. Emily Plume, born 1828 in Stanningfield, Suffolk. She married (1) William Wright, widower, 1846, Great Whelneatham, (son of John Wright and Margaret Plumb), born about 1818 in Great Whelnetham, Suffolk, died before 1885. William's first wife Lucy Cawston died in 1844, aged 23, after only two years of marriage. Emily married (2) Abraham Knock, 4Q 1885 in Thingoe 4a 1127, born about 1840 in Little Whelnetham, Suffolk. In the 1891 census Abraham was living in Great Whelnetham. His Emily's mother, Sarah Plume, widow, born 1807 in Lawshall, was staying with them.

In the 1861 census, Edward was an Agricultural Labourer, living with his family at Malting Street, Great Whelnetham, Suffolk, next to Sarah Plume, Robert's widow. In the 1871 census, Edward was a Farm Baliff, living with his family at Broad Green Cottage, Cheveley, Cambridgeshire. Cheveley is about 16 miles west of Great Whelneatham.

She married Edward Knock, 1853 in Thingoe - 3Q 4a 609, born about 1833 in Little Whelnetham, Suffolk, (son of Stephen Knock and Sarah Seele) died 1911 in Great Whelnetham, Suffolk. Mary died 1922 in Bury St. Edmunds, Suffolk. In 1861 Edward & his family were living at Cottage Green, Great Whelnetham, Suffolk.

He married (1) Emma Payne, June 3 1869 in Bradfield St. George, Suffolk, born about 1844, (daughter of James Payne and Eliza), died 1Q 1877 in Thetford (2B 476). He married (2) Mary Ann Dennison, 2Q 1878 in Windsor (2C 802), born about 1853. Alfred died before 1901. Alfred was a labourer, living at Great Whelnetham, when he married Emma. His father was John Plume, Labourer. Ellen Payne and Alfred Wright were marriage witnesses. In the 1881 census, Alfred & Mary Ann were living at Vicarage Road, Egham, Surrey. Mary Ann's place of birth was recorded as London & Alfred's as Bury St. Edmunds. In the 1891 census, they were living at 2 Grape Cottage, Egham, Surrey. Alfred's place of birth was Welnetham, Suffolk. There was an Emma Payne whose birth was registered 1Q 1844 Thingoe XIII 520. Emma was a Servant at Bradfield St George when she married Alfred. Her father was James Payne, Bootmaker. She may have died in or after the childbirth of John in Honington. In the 1901 census, Mary Ann was a widow, living with her child at The Strand, Virginia Water, Surrey.

  19. George Plume, baptised 3 May 1846 in Great Whelnetham, Suffolk. He married Harriet Elizabeth Everitt, 18 May 1869, in Tostock, Suffolk (Stow 4a 703), baptised 5 September 1847, in Tostock, Suffolk, (daughter of Charles Everitt and Elizabeth Borley). The marriage was witnessed by Samuel Everitt and Mary Ann Parker. George is recorded as a bachelor, of full age, a groom, of Bury St Edmunds, the son of John Plume, an engine driver. Harriet is recorded as a spinster, of full age, a servant of Tostock, the daughter of Charles Everitt, a carpenter. In the 1871 census, George was a Coachman, living with Harriet & George at 6 Churchgate Street, St. Marys, Bury St. Edmunds, Suffolk. George and Harriet were both shown as 24 years old.

  21. David Plume, baptised 1 October 1848 in Great Whelnetham, Suffolk. He was baptised the same day as his cousin Eliza. He married Louisa Jermyn, 1Q 1868 in Thingoe (4a 543), born 1844 in Flempton, Suffolk, (daughter of Henry Jermyn and Susan Woods). Louisa's older sister, Rebecca, married William Coulson Huffey. In the 1871 census, David, Louise & David were living at the Cottage, Cheveley, Cambridgeshire. Their niece, Louisa Jarman, born about 1860 in Flemton, Suffolk, was staying with them. In 1881 and 1901 they were living at 8 Cemetary Rd, Cheveley.

In the 1871 census, Robert was a labourer and was living with his family at Church Cottage, Hawstead, Suffolk.

David died 2Q 1914 in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk. David's birth place varied between Great Whelnetham and Stanningfield. They are about 2 miles apart. In 1871 David was an Agriculteral Labourer living at The Cottage, Hole Farm, Great Whelnetham, Suffolk. John was 28 years old, Sarah - 30, John - 5, Mariam - 2, & Edward - 9 months. In the 1881 census, Miriam was registered as Mary A Plume. In 1881 David was a 37 year old Farm Baliff at Drift Farm, Great Whelnetham, Suffolk With him were Sarah aged 39, John - 15, Mary A (Mariam ?) - 12, Edward - 10, George (Herbert G ?) - 7 & Elizabeth - 3. In the 1891 census, David, aged 49 & his family were living at Osbourne Cottages, Bury Road, Great Whelnetham, Suffolk. With him were Sarah aged 49, John - 25, Herbert G - 17. & William - 9. In 1901 David, Sarah & William were living at 9 Westropes Cottages, Great Whelnetham, Suffolk. His place of birth was recorded as Stanningfield, Suffolk.

  29. Lucy Plume, born about 1852 in Great Whelnetham, Suffolk. She married Edward Ephraim Everitt, born 1852 in Tostock, Suffolk, (son of George & Emily Everitt), died 1905 in Lambeth. In 1881 Edward living with his father at 29, Devonshire Place, Lambeth, Surrey. He was Domestic Groom in 1881, and a Piano forte carman in 1891. A carman was a driver of horse-drawn vehicles for transporting goods, so a pianoforte carman would have delivered pianos. He was a Lath render in 1901. A lath render applied the first coat of plaster on wall & ceiling - a plasterer's assistant.

In 1891 they were living in Great Whelnetham & their Grand-daughter, Emily, born 1879 in Great Whelnetham was staying with them. In 1901 John & Eliza were living at 6, Church Row, Great Whelnetham. John was a "Worker on Road Labourer".

In the 1881 census, Frederick & John were staying with their grandparents, James & Eliza Payne of Bradfield St George. Their name was recorded as "Plum". John's birth was recorded as Honnington. In the 1901 census, Minnie, Ivy & Elsie were living at 135 Cemetery Road, Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk. Minnie was described as "wife". John was not listed as present. He was visiting his Uncle & Aunt - Charles and Louisa Payne, unmarried siblings, children of James & Eliza Payne of Bradfield St George. In the 1911 census, John was a Machinist doing "Rotary wire for securing cylinder plates to cylinders". He was living with his family at 12 St John's Place, Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk.
